I did not know I signed a restriction for marriage?
I bacame a resident of the USA 1 yr and 10 months ago.my fiancée and I were making plans to marry in 6 months.but now we have to post pone because when I was receiving my residency I had to sign a 3 yr agreement to not marry in order to receive residency.at that time I didn't care for it because all I wanted was that id number (ssn) to start college and get my drivers license.I didn't thnk id get married so I signed.anyways I have to wait 1 yr and 2 months to marry? Is there anythn I can do so I don't have to wait that time? Does it help if he is a born US citizen?how or why am I being prohibited?

If you signed an agreement than there's nothing you can do. That agreement is legally binding.

One year and 2 months isn't that long to wait. If you love him than it will fly by. Why the hurry to get married?

Is this the same guy? The one that you wanted to break up with on October 24, the one that hasn't even asked you to marry him yet?

daisymeza, I'm going to be harsh again: you need to gain some maturity for a while. You are all over the place with your desperation over your boyfriend. Slow down and plan your future, not your next romantic move to get him to either marry you or ask you to marry him. You have to realize too that a wedding ring on your finger means very little these days, at least in terms of fidelity and a lasting marriage. You need to be a person in your own right, a person who can stand alone if she has to, so that you can weather all the storms of life if a man leaves you. So SLOW DOWN.
The US has these laws for a reason, and it doesn't change anything that he is a citizen.
The reason? Every day, hundreds of non-citizens get married to citizens for the sole purpose of dumping them the very next day.

The restriction is because, you came to the US for one reason, and many people try to come here for one reason, but then want to change it right away, they always planned on marriage but did not want to go though the harder issues of the marriage visa. So they come here on one, and then apply for a change.

You can hire an immigration attorney and let him see if they will grant a waiver.
