    Homelite 5500 generator
Homelite 5500 briggs and stratton engine running for two days fine. New battery and new sparkplug. Third day starts fine but generates no power even with reset. Also does not idle anymore, runs full. Electrician said it was within the generator.

    Hi,
The only problem with the info you have provided is that Homelite has so many generators. That is where the name of the company came from; its first product was a generator furnishing power to a barn. There is a tag that contains a UT number and a serial number. It is almost impossible without that UT and the date of manufacture is coded into the serial.
    Peace,
