    What is stamp duty on gift of half house to spouse as tenancy on common
    What is stamp duty on gift of half house to spouse as tenancy on common?
    I bought my house before marriage and wish to change the deeds to Tenancy in Common 50/50 with my wife as an act of faith. Do I need to pay stamp duty on this transaction?
    The house is probably currently worth up to £300,000. Do I also have to get a (costly) property valuation?
    Is this an international or UK site? I am in the UK.
