So I have been dating my boyfriend for 7 months, but we have known each other for over 9 years. He has kids that he is totally crazy about and he is an excellent father. His kids mom is far from what you would call a MOTHER. In the 7 months we have been together I have seen her drag him through hell and hot water. So here's the thing recently I called his phone while he was on a visit with the kids and she picks it up and it went down hill from there she constantly plays on my phone. We almost got into a physical altercation with the children present. She is just a tasteless person. These are actions my children NEVER see so I am super embarressed and have to explain to my children what is going on. This is nothing new for her children to witness so they think it is normal behavior. He and I actually have a great relationship but I don't believe that it will get better and as long as he is with me I'm sure she would dangle the kids over his head and I am never one to come between a man and his children. So do you think it is best for me to just separate myself from the situation although he says everything would be OK?

Don't let your emotions towards his ex wife get the better of your relationship. It could be an act of jealousy on the ex's part, so try not to get stuck in the middle of their old marriage issues. If your boyfriend says everything will be fine and blow over, take his word for it. Love is stronger than hatred.
