    How to run well off generator
    How can I hookup generator to run 220 water well when power go`s out?

    To do this safely u will need a box with a 3 position knife switch. On, off and on.

    Shut off breaker to pump and move power from house panel to one side of switch.

    Install a plug to other side of knife switch. This will be where u plug cord from generator.

    Run a jumper from well control panel to the feed in the switch box. This location will be common to both sides of switch.

    Doing it this way will isolate pump from the house when switch is set to the generator side.
