What can you use to treat a swollen vagina having sex
Me and my boyfriend had sex, a day after my vagina got really swollen, red, and very sore. Can you tell me what it might be and how I treat it?

To treat it would take knowing what caused the problem. Unfortunately, there can be a lot of causes.

Has this happened every time you have had sex with him? If not, what is different between the events?

Possibilities include: If you use condoms, it could be a reaction to the spermicide/lubricant or the material used to make the condom. It could be rough or grinding sex causing bruising. It could be an infection (such as a yeast infection) you weren't aware of having was aggravated. It could be a reaction to something on someone's hands.

If this is a reoccurring problem or the symptoms don't seem to be going away or are getting worse, contact your doctor and get a check-up.

I would second what Cat said about going to the doctor (a gynecologist), and she had some very good questions for you to answer so we can better help you.

I would highly suggest an ice pack! It should help the sore feeling immediately and help the swelling go down. A pillow in between your legs will help the icepack stay in place. I wouldn't leave it there for more than 20 min at a time. Hope this helps.

DO NOT put tea tree oil or Voltarin rapid on it. Wow that was painful! Go to the doctor, it's probably a yeast infection and you can get some (soothing not painful) fungal cream for it and antibiotics from doctor if necessary. It is really uncomfortable and I found it better to wear tighter(not too tight) underwear to keep pressure on and a skirt or loose pants. Hope this helps!

Missed it , if it was said or asked, was this extremely rough sex ? Was there enough lube or did he start too soon ?

Was anything different this time, brand of condoms, gels, or oils,

But from STD, to infection, to allergic reactions, it could be anything

How come we are not asking the age any more?

    Allia,

Can you tell us how old are you?

    Thanks.
