I have had a Lhasa for 11 weeks. The dog is crate trained at night and if we go out. We give the dog a good deal of free roaming time, in the living roon, use the same phrases over and over again and much of the time the dog does his business outside. However, if he is given more than my living room to roam, he will at times mess in another room. We use gates, but I'm tired of moving gates. We adopted him from people who lied to me and told me he was almost done being house trained. When I brought him home, I found out he was house trained at all. We had to force him to go outside the first week. He wouldn't leave the house. How do we get this dog to stop messing in another room behind our backs if he is given more space? Lhasa's don't require a huge amount of exercise, so he is often played with outside. He has plenty of toys, we use good dog food and he gets a lot of positive attention.
