I just woke up and the pain in my stomach was so severe that it was difficult to get out of bed and walk to the bathroom, as well use the bathroom. I'm having a hard time sitting/standing.

The best way to figure out if your appendix is about to burst in your case is to either call 911 for an ambulance or to get into your car and drive down to the hospital. They'll be able to tell you and take the appropriate actions if you are.

A cautionary tale. A friend of mine has a REALLY high pain threshold. She had the abdominal pain that comes with a bursting appendix but when she went to the hospital they didn't think it was her appendix because her standard of pain was different than theirs. This is kind of inconsequential.

The important thing I wanted to relate is that her appendix burst. They didn't catch it for a day or two. In that time She had a leak from her gut into her abdominal cavity. The result of that leak rendered her essentially sterile except for intrusive fertilisation techniques. I am not sure if there are any other damage.

The take home message is to get it checked out and quickly. The complications can be horrible for either males or females.
