I'm in the navy and I just went away only for two weeks on a course and half way though my girlfriend text me saying she doesn't know if she wants me anymore after 2 years and that she loves me but gets everything she needs apart from sex from her boss who also likes her and has been trying to break us up so he can have her and because I'm away I can't stick up for myself she says we will talk and make a choice about what is going to happen but should I just end it if she is happy with him? Or should I be selfish and keep loving her and putting her though lonleyness all the time?? Please help

You're not looking at this clearly at all.

By hanging on to her, you won't be putting her through "lonleyness all the time". She will still be with him, you will still be hanging onto hopes that somehow it will work out... she won't be lonely.

Listen, you deserve better than this. This woman is not worth your time or your heart. Tell her to have fun with him because you don't need crap like that in your life. You will eventually find someone that treats you right.

I agree. It's a shame that while you are off, she texts this to you. Why couldn't she tell you face to face when you got back?

In any case, she doesn't deserve you. Just out of curiosity, how old is your girlfriend and her boss?

My girlfriend is 18 her boss is at least late 20s early 30s and I blame him because she has to see him and he's just been doing everything he can to make her feel like I don't give her enough but I love her so much so confused and being away not being able to defend myself has made it worse.

She should have addressed this in person and not while you are gone with Navy, just her way of doing it, not even what was done, is enough to dump her and move on

And don't just blame the boss... it takes two and she is obviously OK with it.

Ahh I see... Big age difference there...

How old are you?

This may be a faze for her. Think about it, she is young and easily influenced. He is this older more mature man that excites her. Doestn't make it right or fair, but he could be putting on the charm and trying to manipulate her. Unfortunately for her, he is only trying to charm his way into her panties. She will learn the hard way. I don't believe when she says that he provides everything apart from sex. Sure, maybe they haven't yet, but it will most likely happen.

If I were yiu, I would just let her go. Hey, just be glad that you two weren't married with a home... or children for that matter.

A navy guy like you... won't have any problems in love department.

You're hurting now, which is normal, but this too shall pass.

I do give her some creadit though. She was honest enough to tell you that she wants someone else. She could have easily strung you along down this bumpy emotional road, but didn't. Still not right how she did it through the phone...
