    Gas line and recessed lighting
I have yellow flexible gas lines running on the ceiling of my basement beside the duct work. I have boxed in the duct work and now want to add halo 5" recessed lighting with 75 watt bulbs. They would end up around 6 inches away from the gas line. If the recessed lighting is rated for direct contact with insulation would this be sufficient to also protect the heat from the gas line? The gas line is fairly new (2 years).

Using an IC housing, plus having some insulation between the housing and gas lines will be sufficient.

Also any place where a metal jacketed cable like MC cable or a metal electrical conduit touches the gas line should be taped with electrical tape if the gas line is metal.
