I'm a 20-year old girl, I had my last period on the 28th of August. On the 8th of September, I met my long distance boyfriend and we had protected sex. Though he ejaculated inside me twice, the condom did not tear each time when we checked. Since we were quite sure of this, I didn't take any contraceptive pills and nor am I on any sort of birth control pills. I have been undergoing a lot of stress in my studies after that day. My periods are fairly regular, but they got delayed this time BY A 10 DAYS! Now the dilemma is, I am getting the cramps which I get in my periods, but when I check it, it is a funny kind of a light brown spotting in my underwear. I have also been experiencing severe cold since 5 days and two days back I took a urine pregnancy test, as advised by my boyfriend and the result was negative. I obediently did the test early in the morning for the most accurate result. My breasts are not swollen or sensitive and I'm also not experiencing nausea. I do get tired a lot due to my hectic study schedules but that is a regular course for me. My boyfriend, who is 21, is going to be a doctor soon, so I have been taking his advise, but now we're really worried because I'm not getting my periods. Please help.

Wait a few days and take another. If negative see a doctor. It's possible, but a delayed period can also be due to stress, fatiguge etc: you kind of have to just wait it out and see.

All of the signs don't match pregnancy, but the missed period, it also could be an infection.

The issue I see at this point is you need to wait another week to 10 days and do the test again.
