    Old kids movie, probably late 80s/early 90s - involved a lake and the devil!
    Hi all,

    I remember watching this movie when I was a kid, around 1990.

    The plot involved a bunch of kids who were hanging out around a lake. There was a jetty heading out into the water, and the kids discussed a rumour that if you went out on it at midnight you would meet the devil.

    There was also a big watermill by the side of the lake, and the water level kept rising and falling. At the end of the film this was revealed to be the work of a giant man, who pulled the plughole out of the lake thus draining all the water away.

    I think if you've seen this you'd remember it - but does anyone know what it's called? I've literally spent the last 20 years trying to find out, no luck yet...

    This sounds like it could be the one. I'm pretty sure I would have never come across this without your help, thank you! I'll post again to confirm once I've tracked it down and had a watch...

    I've watched it, and it's the one, thanks again!

    Amazingly it still held up in my eyes, a bit spooky too for a kids film... it brought back so many memories.

    The only surprise was the ending, the giant man pulling out the plug was a figment of my imagination - or was he? Does anyone know whether there was an alternative ending to this film?

    Interestingly I found one very random mention of an alternative ending for Frog Dreaming, buried within a Dirty Dancing review - see the caption under the fourth picture down: DVD REVIEW: DIRTY DANCING – LIMITED KEEPSAKE EDITION | CHUD.com

    If anyone knows about an alternative ending, please let me know!
