My husband and I received an unfair judgement against my father, now we have to pay $900 (which came from nowhere, my father lied) plus court fees.

My father lied in court and now my husband and I have to pay $900 plus other fees. I think this is an unfair judgement and now we are fighting tooth and nail so that my father doesn't get his hands on our money and possessions. My in-laws suggest we pay him a minimal monthly amount. We cannot afford a lawyer because we already have one we are paying from a previous situation (not related to the issue at hand). We have other debts we are trying to pay off, but now we have this on our shoulders. Is there anything we can do to cut the judgement in half or down to nothing? Please help and thank you.

First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on another thread. This can lead to confusion. So I've moved your question to its own thread.

You need to give us more info here. If you received a judgment against your father, then he owes you money. So it sounds like your father sued you and you lost. What was the suit about? What is the $900 for?

Most people who lose, think the judgement is unfair, fair has nothing to do with law,

You were served notice of a law suit, you had a chance to give your side of the story and produce evidence in court. Obviously the judge believed the other side and you lost.

Being fair has nothing to do with legal system. So now you either pay or not.

Please do not start new questions, it confuses everyone, wastes experts time.

I tried to merge these but you in the process has lost one good answer.

The issue here is, there is nothing to fight, your time to fight was in court, you lost and appear to have no real grounds to appeal.

Just paying him a small amount does not good, unless he is willing to accept it,
With a judgement, he may garnish wages or take money from bank accounts.
