    Hi,
There is most certainly an armature/module/coil that the magnets of the flywheel swing past as the engine spins to produce the spark. Yes, it is beneath the starter and blower housing; best to remove both at one time, usually. There will also be a wire that connects to the shutoff swich that will be attached to the throttle/governor system; follow the calbe from the safety bail.
    Peace,
    Clarke

I've just purchased a house and I'm new at taking care of a lawn. I purchased a Troy Built 2 cycle mower and needed more oil. I bought 4 cycle oil and now the lawn mower is smoking. Did I buy the wrong oil?
