Spouse on F1. Can I fle jointly ?
    Hi.

    My wife is on a F1 status. Through out 2006. I am on a H1 B status.
Prior to 2006 she was on H4.
She is paying Resident fees, since I am a resident. I am supporting her in her travel to school and in her education expenses.
Can I claim her as a dependent ?

    Thanks for your advice

It would be better for you to file jointly. That way, you can deduct the education expenses or claim an Education Credit.
