Is it possible to sue someone for comments put on Facebook
Can I sue a woman who has put comments to me on a public wall, saying that I had an affair with her husband while she was still married to him, and also that I was unfaithfull to my own husband with hers? None of it is true.

This is very, very new law - I have seen such cases filed, but I haven't seen any that have been successful. The problem is proving that you've been harmed by her comments. The "harm" usually is a dollar amount.

I also know that part of the problem is finding an Attorney who is willing to put time into these matters.

Small Claims Court is always an option but, again, damages can be tricky to prove.

Have you talked to any Attorneys?

No not yet. I'm not bothered about money, I just want her to stop. Can I get a solicitor to send her a lette,r warning her that if it she doesn't stop the accusations and make a public apology to me on Face book, I will then take further action ?

Ah. UK. Where a certain 19th Century playwright sued for defamation and ended up in prison when it was all said and done. But I don't think it works that way anymore.

Sure, you can hire a solicitor to do that. Might work.
