    Brown period blood?
I've been having heavy, thick dark brown blood/discharge during the same week my period is due with occasional reddish spots at the end of the day. I'm 16 and on birth control. I had sex about 3 and a half weeks ago and we used a condom. It broke but we changed it the second it happened. I'm not feeling out of the ordinary. But I'm curious as to why I've been having brown blood for 5 days now like a normal period.

Brown blood is old blood. In other words, blood left in your body, that your body is getting rid of. It's not a period. That's the simplest way I can state it.

Pregnancy is possible. There's no form of birth control that's 100%. If I had a dime for every friend that got pregnant while on the pill, using a condom, and using another form of birth control, I'd be rich.

The only way to prevent pregnancy 100% is to avoid having sex until you're ready to have a child.

You'll have to test. Wait a week, and then test with first morning urine. I'm only saying this because what you describe doesn't sound like a period.

But there's enough to where I have to use a pad throughout the day. I can occasionally feel small clots pass. And it shows up pretty well when I wipe. But it has been going on for 5 days now.
