Bogus claims filed against my wife by ex-bro-in-law
My wife's sister is in the middle of a brutal separation from her husband. This guy is bitter and using any way he can to get back at his wife for going to court. He even uses his 6yr old daughter to get back at her. Anyway my wife's sister is suffering from inoperable ovarian cancer, now has a nuerological disorder similar to MS. She cannot walk barely and so my wife has moved in with her sister to help out. My wife keeps getting charges filed against her twice and now a third time. The first two was that this man claimed my wife slapped him on the back and he wanted to throw her in jail for 6 months. Ridiculous. My wife never touched this man. Anyway on the date of the first hearing he never showed up and we assumed the case was closed. Wrong! He claimed he never got a letter to of the date change and accused my wife of throwing it out (he lived next door to us for a short time) and went and filed charges again at the police station and dragged us into court again for a hearing. This time he brought a lawyer and his brother and they lied to the magistrate. The magistrate threw the case out and warned my ex-bro-in-law not to waste the court's time as there was no evidence or cause for a trial.

Now yesterday my sis-in-law received a text from her ex that he has filed charges against my wife claiming child abuse against his daughter while she is helping out her sister. This of course is bull but this time this man went to the police station and took his daughter with him to file charges in the town where his ex lives and the police told him they cannot file any charges because there is a lack of evidence. This event traumatized his own daughter as she recounts her experience to her mother. My ex-bro-in-law went to the court house where neither lived and managed to file charges against my wife. These of course are bogus but this man has a history of bi-polar disorder, irrationality and basicially a controlling nature. He hasn't filed charges against me because I think he fears me. However. I will be side my wife in court. Is there anyway or anything we can do to stop this nut case from harassing my wife and me from frivolous lawsuits?

Yes, file counter claims for defamation and harassment. If you have proof that the police denied his filing and so he filed in a different jurisdiction, this can help. You should have the ruling of the other court against him as well.
