    Water well problems
My husband left the outside water faucet on all night. In the morning, when we flushed the toilet the water came out brown. Now, all of the water in our faucets is brown. It's been more than 24 hours. Did we drain our well? What do we need to do next? I'm not using any of the water. I have two small children.

Hubby goofed! Sounds like he lowered the water table and now you're pumping silt. You have two options here,
1- Shut the water off to the house and wait for the water table to build back up **OR**
2- Get a well company to dig the well deeper.
If you continue to use your faucets they will eventually clog the cartridges and you'll ene up cleaning or replacing them plus flushing out your water lines. Good luck, Tom

I'd try just doing nothing for a couple of weeks. It'll probably clear up on its own. Kind of depends on what you mean by "brown". If you mean its cloudy, then I'd bet it will clear up on its own. If, however, you can actually see silt particles, then that might be a different story. But even at that, I wouldn't spend a dime before trying to just wait it out. Run some water every day, even if you're just watering the yard, flushing toilets, etc. You should see a gradual improvement.
