    Wires from my furnace
    The four wires from my furnace are red orange white green but on my thermostat it asks for red green white and yellow wher does the orange go

    The orange SHOULD go in to the y spot. However, to know for sure you need to go to the furnace and see where the wires hook to. Let me know and I should be able to tell you exactly where the wires should hook at the stat.

    Thanks and you were correct, but it still didn't work so I bypassed the thermostate and lo and behold it worked. Turned out the thermostat was faulty from the factory. I got a new one hooked it up and everything was great. Thanks for your advice and Time... Al

    Just curious, what brand stat was it that was bad from the factory? You will get one every now and again, no matter what brand, but some are a little more prone to problems than others. Glad to hear you got it taken care of.

    I believe it was a UPM, bought a honeywell...

    Never heard of UPM, but you really can't go wrong with a Honeywell, good choice.
