139.53918D opener compatible with a hardwired control
I have a model139.53716 solid state digital controler (outside keypad which is hardwired to the opener control and runs off house current) which I installed with my older generation Sears garage door opener some years ago. I now have a 139.53918D opener which up until yesterday seemed to work fine with my old controler. Starting yesterday I get a "door in motion" display on the opener wall control that came with the new garage door opener. The wall display flashes on and off also. The new door opener display operates normally when I disconnect the touch controller leading me to believe that the touch controler is bad. I have tried replacing the backup battery in the touchpad controller which did not resolve the problem. If nobody has a suggestion for getting my old touch controller to work, is there a hardwired touchpad that is compatible with my new door opener? (I would prefer hardwired running on house current vs battery) and a second not specifically current problem related question: can I order and install an additional inside wall wall switch (so that I have 2 switches, in different locations, on the same 139.53918D opener? Would a door bell type switch work?
