Power outlet is burning up fridge
HI. We had a power outage last night and today my fridge is working but the metal part between the side freezer and fridge is super hot. Is this because something happened to the outlet? A short? Do you think it's a fire hazard? I am calling an electrician tomorrow, but I am worried about my husband who is at home tonight because he is the only one there. The ac fan also stopped working and the ac isn't cooling, but mostly worried about a fire. If anyone knows anything, please help!

Have an electrician check things out ASAP. A power failure can consists of a brownout, low voltage, or voltage on the neutral, or a broken neutral, and each condition can damage appliances.

May be wise to unplug any affected appliance until checked.

I had a fridge where the motor kept working but the fan died, and the heat from the motor literally cooked all the food, even a large frozen roast. I was away, and the whole fridge was dangerously hot.
