I adopted a Chow about 4 weeks ago. Her left eye started getting matted. I kept it clean, but now I notice the eye is turning a cloudy blue, is she going to loose sight in that eye?:(

I adopted a Chow about 4 weeks ago. Her left eye started getting matted. I kept it clean, but now I notice the eye is turning a cloudy blue, is she going to loose sight in that eye?:(

It could be Cataracts, or possibly the normal aging process of the lens (nuclear sclerosis).
I would go and talk to your vet to get a proper diagnosis and see if you can get drops or ointment to help with the condition.

I am not going to speculate on what the problem might be. Eye problems are serious an it needs to see the vet.

Thanks everyone, I did take my Chow to the vet and she had glaucoma. I will give her eye drops and hope she doesn't get it in the other eye. I appreciate all your help.:(
