    Daily headache
I've been getting daily dull headaches that last all day for the past 4 weeks. The pain is in one or both temples and sometimes the forehead as well. I have tried codeine, no help and am currently taking tramadol that masks the pain but I can still tell its present. After a good nights sleep the headache is not present immediately on waking. I am not woken by the headaches however and have no other symptoms. I have not had headaches in the past and am currently awaiting results on a ct scan. This morning I woke with no headache, went for a run and started to get a headache in my temples however on other occasions I have exercised with a headache and it seems to have got better.

Masking headaches with drugs (except for tylenol and ibuprofin) instead of finding the cause just perpetuates the problem. I assume that if you had a scan you also had your blood pressure checked and a general checkup.

If the scan shows nothing, you can do a lot yourself:
Start with your jaw and teeth, the condition of your teeth, how you clench (TMJ), how you chew. Ask your dentist about it, and see him or her if you haven't recently.
Then your muscles - neck, shoulders, back. Even sitting at a computer wrong can bring on headaches, if you sit half sideways or your mouse arm and shoulder goes too high. Peering down or up at the screen, thus tightening your neck muscles, is a very common cause. Or poor vision, so you are straining to see the screen.
Then hydration. Lack of it can cause headaches. Too much coffee or tea, not enough water or juices. Diet - Too much sugar. Not enough protein, vitamins, minerals.
    Stress and worry of course.
Rarely, sinuses can stay filled with mucous after a cold and get infected.

That's about all I can think of, aside from the serious/rare conditions that should show on a CT, MRI, or MRA.

What is your blood pressure? High blood pressure can cause headaches of this sort.
