I stole a pop and some sunflower seeds and it totaled out to be 1.89$ I dident have any money so I just kind of picked it up and walked out the building with it and I'm on suspension until they call me back to discuss my employment, do you think I'm going to get fired?

Personal opinon, yes, I doubt you ever even get a call back.

Not having any money is not an excuse and only shows you are trying to justify stealing so if you told them that, most likely they will just think you will do it again.

I would be more concerned about them deciding to press charges.

I'd be more concerned that the Police will be called and you will have a criminal record.

This is theft from an EMPLOYER, a lot worse than theft from a stranger.

The cops aren't pressing charges I already know that so that out of the question but is 1.89$ enough to get fired

The "Cops" don't press charges. The store does.

Of course $1.89 is "enough" to get fired. One cent is enough to get fired.

It's also employment at will. You can be fired for absolutely no reason other than the store doesn't want you there any more.

And I wouldn't be too sure the store isn't going to press charges. Minimally you now have no work reference.

I don't understand your attitude of entitlement -

The fact that you even think there is some threshold for getting fired indicates that something is lacking in your general life knowledge. It should be intuitively obvious that you can be fired for any wrongdoing, or even anything an employer doesn't like about you, such as swearing at someone or wearing holey sneakers. There seems to be a whole new generation that thinks a job comes with all sorts of rights. The only rights you have are the civil rights ones added to the constitution.
If that isn't what you are wondering, and it's just what we think the ODDS are in this case, I'll give you odds of 300 to 1 that your job is history.

I would fire you if you had worked for me and did that. It doesn't matter that the amount was low, what matters is that you did it... it could just as easily been a $100 item that you stole, the principle is the same.

I love the description: "i dident have any money so i just kinda of picked it up and walked out the building with it ..."

    Yes, that's "kinda" like stealing.

Yes, well, not having any money is obviously an OK reason for some people to kind of walk out with things.

I've heard the faulty logic, "My company doesn't pay me all that much and what I am worth, so taking supplies, etc. is a good way to even things up."
