    20 amp outlet
    Can u use a 20 amp receptacle (look like a normal wall plug) to hook up to a 220 breaker switch

    No, but you can buy a 20 amp 240 volt outlet that looks similar to a regular 120 volt outlet except the right prong is horizontal.

    You need to use the proper receptacle for the circuit. That means the voltage and the amperage.

    No, you cannot use a standard 20a/120v receptacle on a 20a/240v circuit.

    "normal " wall plug looks like what? No, not if it looks like what I think you are talking about, called a Nema 5-20R
    Like this. Oh and because it would be unwise,unsafe and illegal to use this for 120V

    Here's a picture of a Nema 6-20R receptacle that is the proper U ground type, there are twist lock versions also (with different Nema numbers)
