    Non payment of settlement
    I am divorced for 2 years and my ex has not paid the settlement yet wich was agreed on. The lawyer has sent the sherrif of the court to attach twice already and the girlfreind says everything belongs to her and produces receipts so now that's a dead end what is the next step for me getting my settlement and he does not have a job. I still own half the house but I do not pay towards the bond.

    As you see getting a settlement does not equal collecting on it... join the crowd. You have lots of company. As long as they have no separate assets, there is nothing you can get. But Keep vigilant and keep trying... its a lot of work for them to keep doing that and eventually you might get lucky,

    Apparently he has strived to make himself judgment proof. No job, no assets, nothing to collect. But you say you still own half the house, can you take the house or at least put a lien on his share, then try to force a sale.
