I work at ER 7p to 7a and came home on lunch break at 12 midnight and my cat came in while I ate. I let her back out and went back to work until 7 in the a.m. It is now 10:24 the next night, 12 midnight will be 24 hours. She was fixed... What could have happened between those hours??

On, she is microchipped... I am at a loss. I live close to the hospitals, so it is somewhat downtown... Do coyotes come down town?? The other cat is still here. I am just sick.

I've had that happen before. My cat was in a neighbor's garage. I live in the country, but coyotes do come to more urban areas. Hopefully, she comes home soon.

Is there any reason you can't keep the cats indoors all the time? It doesn't sound like you live in a cat-friendly place with the traffic, probably wild animals, etc. Coyotes and cougars (mountain lions) are being sighted in Chicago and the suburbs, so, yes, wild animals are moving in.
