    Real estate addition problem
I bought a property in bell gardens ca. Two houses on a lot. The rear house was being enlarged but construction was not finished. I bought this property and renewd the expired building permits. Construction was completely finished and the city signed off on the final inspection. I bought this property because it is a R3 lot. I am permited to build up to three houses on this lot. I made drawings and blue prints and went back to city to get a building permit. They asked me to make a few corrections and they would give me an answer.

The answer was and is that they could not give me any building permits because the rear house that I had just finished enlarging was built onto someone else's propery. Which is a 20ftX 100Ft piece of property at the rear of my lot. I said to the city that they had given me all the permits to build. I asked them why did you let me onto someone else property. They said the had not done a property servey intil after I applied for a permit for the new structure. I NEED A LAYWER. Please, someone help me find an answer.

And you bought the property without having your OWN survey done? I think that falls upon you even more than it does them.

Sorry, you brought the property without a survey ?

You broght the property without a clause that would not final close until all permits were approved.

You needed the attorney before you bought the property.

Suggest you try to buy the land the house sits on. You may well have to tear the new addttion down.
