    Ceiling fan sparks
My daughters bedroom has a ceiling fan with light & there is no wall switch so u have to use the pull chain. About a month ago I tied a string to the light chain and ran it across the ceiling with some eye hooks so she could turn the light on at the door, she is 7 & gets scared walking into a dark room.. lastnight I pulled the chain to turn on the light and a bunch of sparks flew out of where the chain comes out of the fixture & there was a loud popping sound. I am assuming the pull chain switch is broken or damaged because where I ran it along the ceiling it gets pulled sideways but my main concern is if this is a fire hazard if the light is off.. should I have my daughter sleep in our room until we can have it fixed? Thank you:)

Without a wall switch, the fan power lead is still hot even if the pull chain is broken. I would suggest you get it fixed so she can have light and you can feel comfortable.
