    Trig/Precalc
The table shows the percentage of male and female populations in a certain county employed in the work force in certain years since 1989. Model the data algebraically with linear equations of the form y=mx+b. Use the 1989 and 1995 data to complete the slopes. Use the year as x and the employment data as y.

    Year 1989 1990 1991 1992 1993 1994 1995
    Women (%) 28.6 32.9 38.2 42.4 46.9 50.4 55.1
    Men (%) 96.7 92.4 87.1 82.9 78.4 74.9 70.2

The equation that represents women's employment statistics is y=?
The equation that represents men's employment statistics is y=?

Here's what I've done so far, all I need is a little push in the right direction, as I've tried this question multiple times on an online quiz and have gotten it wrong every time.

Slope=rise over run, right? For both women I got 4.42 as the slope, and for men I got -4.42. (55.1-28.6=4.42, 70.2-96.7=-4.42). So would the equation be y=4.42x for women, and y=-4.42x for men? There's no y-intercept (I think).

Any pointers? Did I do this right at all?
    Thank you for any help.
