I have a 2001 4 cylinder Honda Civic with an automatic transmission. I have been having issues with the transmission. It shifts hard between 2nd and 3rd gear. It also has shifted into neutral on its own on a few occasions. The fluid is up and there are no leaks. Any help with this would be a great help. Thank you.

After the transmission is at normal operating temperature, drain the fluid and refill (3 quarts). Drive the car for a day and repeat the process. This should replace most of the old transmission fluid. If the problem persists, replace the VSS. Should the problem still persist, it likely needs to be rebuilt.
