Caught shoplifting a $16 bottle of wine at shopnsave in singapore.
I just turned 18 when I got caught shoplifting. I admitted straight away when the security officer asked me. I did not deny anything. This is my first time and have a very clean record other than this. I'm from a reputable school in Singapore too, preparing for my A levels. They took my bag for investigation too. Is this a common procedure? What will happen to me after I report back in 2 weeks time? I'm really scared. :(

Can your parents hire a lawyer? That's your best bet. You might get a letter of restitution + legal costs instead of court, and it might be several hundred dollars above the cost of the wine. There's also the matter of your school, and what they might do. Another reason to hire a lawyer.
