    HELP!! I need 'out-of the box' ideas to find the length of a parabola
    I need an interesting idea to calculate the length of a simple parabola. I cannot use a formula because then I will have to explain how I derived it. Someone suggested using string, but that's already taken... PLEASE HELP!!

    You could use a geoboard and rubber bands.
