    Copper Wire to Silver Wire
I recently purchased a replacement flush ceiling fixture. The black and white wires coming from my electrical box in the ceiling are copper colored, the black and white wires in the new fixture have a silver colored wire.

Is it OK to connect them?

The fixture conductor wires are a tinned stranded copper. The insulation of those wires are black and white. There should also be a green or bare wire attached to the metal housing of that fixture. (luminaire for the Europeans and NEC 2005)

The hookup is simple. Black to black, white to white , and bare to bare or green.
