31 weeks pregnant with a horrible cough
Im 31 weeks pregnant and I got this horrible cough from my partner now we both have it. I don't have a medical plan so I can't go see a doctor. It gets worse at night when Im trying to go to sleep. It scares me cause I feel like I'm hurting my baby. What can we both take to kill this cough once and for all?

Are you vaccinated against whooping cough?
Of course, it would be best to see a doctor.
But you could try sleeping with your head higher (lots of pillows) and a moist cloth over your nose/mouth.
Talk to a pharmacist about medication options.

Do you have an OB who will be delivering your baby?

Im not vaccinated against whooping cough... but I will try sleeping with more pillows(the more, the merrier) and the towel. Thanks for the suggestion!

You NEED to seek medical attention even if you have to go to the ER. Your baby should be that important to you.

I understand you don't have insurance and most likely cannot afford to pay for this yourself. However, there are certain illnesses that can put your unborn child at risk. Serious risk, such as premature delivery and/or stillbirth.

I am a labor and delivery nurse. I deliver babies for a living. If you could PM me your location (so that you can remain confidential) I could see if there are services available in your area.

Another tip, if your airways are irritated, try to breath as shallow as possible and not deep.
(this helped me when I had whooping cough a few years ago, also the cloth and pillows helped. I'm not saying you have whooping cough, but these techniques should help a little for any bad cough)
And I agree with J_9, better safe than sorry.

And if it is whooping cough, it could be deadly to her child as well as the unborn child.

I sent you a PM. Look for the blinking envelope and respond to it.
