    How can these 2 drugs be differentiated on a drug test?

    They are structurally different. Either drug must be specifically tested for in order to be detected. While both are semi-synthetic opioids the natural opiate content is too low for detection on a standard panel.

    If specifically tested for then at the level of confirmatory testing either/or can be specifically identified.
