    Air locked water heater
    Hi,

I have just installed a gas water heater and it works rather well except that it takes a very long long time before the hot water comes out. It has been suggested to me that there is an air lock issue. How can I resolve this problem, if this is indeed the problem?

When you installed the new heater did you notice that the in and out lines are marked on the heater and you connected correctly? There is a dip tube that draws water from the lower half of the tank on the outlet side. You did not alter it at all did you?

Did it take a long time to get hot water before you changed the water heater?
