    Temporary custody to final
    My husband filed for divorce in sd and got temporary custody of our children. He is abusive. I have cared for the children since they wer born with very little help from him. It has been 3 months since he filed, and there is no court date yet. How long will this take before we go to court for custody? Or since he filed, do I just have to wait until his attorney sets a court date? He can not afford to pay his attorney so I fear court may be pushed back. He has what he wants, the children, and he has no chance at permanent custody, why would he want this to go any further? How long can he stall the divorce and custody for?

    What does your Attorney say? Ask for an emergency hearing/order if you believe he is a danger to your children.
