    Computer problem with windows 7
I have an hp laptop pavilion dv6 and its completely new.
The other day I noticed on the right bottom hand corner it said
"windows 7 build 7601 this copy of windows is not genuine"
Now I don't really know what it means and I did research on it a couple days ago and people said something about legal copy or windows 7 re-install but I didn't know how cause my windows 7 was pre-installed. Since this happened, I think the only problem with this is that my computer screen background is black. I can still see all my stuff and use things regularly but I have no background.

    Please help,
    Gerald:d

You are screwed... the only way to fix that is to buy a license from Microsoft... and enter the codes, or reinstall it with a licenses copy and enter the correct codes.

Whoever sold you the system used a bootleg copy with a hack that Microsoft disabled on an update.

Cheapest way is just buy the licesne from Microsoft... its cheaper because they aren't selling you a disc... just a registration code.

Have you looked on the bottom of the laptop for a sticker? Its where most put it. Its your windows registration number. It will look like a small seal that has a holo logo on it.
