    Petrol forecourt accident.
Hi - A few weeks ago at 3.00 a.m. I filled up, paid and whilst returning to car I slipped in a very large pool of oil. It was an up in the air slip - suitable for Youtube or You've Been Framed. I lay on the floor for a nimute or two and the attendant came out of the shop and helped me back up onto my feet and into the shop. He told me that a girl had filled car with oil, he had seen the pool, but company regulations forbade him from leaving the cash area and so was unable to clear it, nor put warning sign up.

I hurt my back, arm and wrist. My arm was badly grazed, but I was very concerned about my wrist. I went to casualty and was there 5 hours plus whilst being x-rayed. There was no breaks or fractures thankfully but it was extremely painful for about three weeks, especially my being over 60 years old.

The solicitors for the company have admitted liability and have asked if there was any loss incurred.

There was no financial loss, the damage wasn't permament and the bad, large graze on my forearm has healed up with no scarring although I was in pain for the next three weeks

If I had broken a bone, I would have had some idea of "value", if I had lost work I would have a definite idea of "value". With this I have NO idea whatsoever of it's financial worth. I am not normally a claimer because accidents do happen however in this case I was very annoyed because the attendant had seen it and yet there was no contingency plan for cleaning the oil up... an accident really waiting to happen.

    Many thanks indeed.

There's a huge number of injury claim firms in the UK that will happily take a case like this.
They are really the best people to talk to for a full compensation claim.

Hi again Curlyben ----- now wonder wondergirl thinks you are great!

I spoke to compensation firm and after describing circumstances and telling them no permament injury they said that "no win-no fee" firms will not act on any claims under £1000 - which led me to think that the amount would be very minor - hence my question.

    Thanks again
