Dog has trouble walking and using back legs
My dog is 17 years old. Part poodle and? She has arthritis and was abused as a puppy before we adopted her. The last few weeks she has started having trouble getting up and down. But for the past week she is having trouble walking. She isn't eating much these last few days and its very difficult for her to have a bowel movement. Its breaking my heart to see her this way, does anyone have any ideas of what could be wrong?

Sounds like her back is giving her problems. In older pets, the soft cushions that pad the vertebra become hard and nerves get pinched.

This can be very severe where the pet loses function of the back legs, or it can be moderate where you see discomfort and the pet is acting differently.

You can control it.. however; keep in mind, it will get bad enough where you will need to make a decision.

Call your vet and make an appointment. Pain medicine will be your pets friend with this intervertebral disk disease.
