    Why do I have this terrible sharp chest pain?
    This happens to me rarely... about twice now. It was 5 years ago I was waiting for the bus in the cold and my heart starts to hurt so much. It became so difficult to inhale and exhale and burns with every breath. I thought it would go away but it lasted couple days. I had it again this year and check with the doc and he told me something from my ribs might be poking my heart. I don't think this was clear enough because I didn't have insurance so he didn't want to check me thoroughly. If any of you know the cause of this it would be greatly appreciated!

    WHERE are you finding this doctor? 'Something from your ribs poking your heart' does indeed sound like a doctor trying to get you out of his office if you aren't a paying patient.

    I don't know why you would have heart pains on very rare occasions. Having it every 5 years, even for a few days, probably isn't going to get you much attention and testing unless you do pay for it all, because it could be anything.
