    ETG Enzyme Levels
Hi, does anyone know how much alcohol is needed to be consumed to trigger the enzyme? I wondered if you just had a few sips over a whole day (less than a glass of wine) would this trigger a positive result in an ETG test? Thanks.

Even small trace amounts of alcohol will produce EtG/EtS and will spike above the level of detection on many tests. However, the peak EtG rapidly declines and will not register on a test after several hours. The main problem is timing.

Using your circumstance, 1 glass of wine (14g abs. alc.) could be detectable beginning about 2-5 hours after consumption but would be eliminated from your system in 13-21 hours. There is an interval in there when you could register a positive, especially at 100 ng cutoff, but it is only for a few hours.

Thierauf, 2009 Urine tested positive for ethyl glucuronide after trace amounts of ethanol. Addiction, Dec;104(12):2007-12.

Greetings. I'm working on a paper regarding drug and alcohol testing and got a little confused on the math (not for a science class obviously!). I was wondering if anyone could help me clarify one small point using the ETG test as an example. Is a 50 cutoff level more or less sensitive than a...

EtG levels By Thursday? [ 5 Answers ]

I just got done drinking a 40oz of Steel Reserve (8.1% alcohol). So, I figure that's exactly equal to 6 regular American beers (72oz) of 4.5% alcohol, or 6 drinks. I drank it in about a three-hour timeframe. What I'm wondering if I will be okay by Thursday at 2pm. Im not really sure if the lab...

I recently started seeing a pain physician for chronic low back pain that had been difficult to manage. On the first visit, he did a urine check, which I supposed was to see if I was compliant with my pain medication. On the second visit, two weeks later, he was dictating his findings in front of...
