    Roommate on lease
    I rent a townhouse and sublease. My boyfriend move into the basement and is on the lease. We are now broken up and he doesn't want to move out. I was here 11 months before him then?

    Confusing statements here - who is subletting?
    If you and your boyfriend both have a lease, it doesn't matter who was there first. He is free to stay, you are free to move out as long as you pay the remaining months on your lease or find a subletter who is acceptable to the landlord.

    Renew lease and remove roommate
    If two of us are on a lease, can I have him removed from the lease once the lease is up for renewal?

    Maybe depends on whether your landlord is willing.
