I was prescribed vicodin after my knee surgery. Surgery was June 18. I was taking 1/2 a pill then week later was taking 1 pill a day and from then on, I was taking up to 2 pills a day. They are 500mg. I wasn't paying attention and I had only 1 pill left. I decided to keep it for an emergency, but it didn't work out that way. All day I've been having cold sweats and chills I also feel hot. As the day has gone on, it got more severe. I just took my last pill to get rid of the issues. Tomorrow I won't have pills and no refills. I'd rather never take this pill again.

Am I withdrawing from the medication even though I wasn't on it for that long? If so, how long should I expect this to last?

Speaking as someone who has taken Vicodin (750 mg every 4 hours for 10 - 20 days) and knows many other people who have too, those amounts shouldn't produce those symptoms I think, unless you fall into a very rare group. In a day you should know if you are just coming down with some totally unrelated illness. .
