Hello, I am a 22 year old female and every time I have sex I get a yeast infection directly afterwards. I am sure it is yeast, as I went to the doctor the first time it happened. There is no possibility of my partner and me passing it back and forth because this the second partner I have had and the same thing has happened. I use a condom every time I have sex and have never had sex without one. My doctor told me to urinate after having sex to get rid of any residue from the condom, I did that and I still ended up with a yeast infection. What is going on with me? Is there any way I can make this stop or prevent it from happening? I am only 22, I am afraid I will never be able to have a regular sex life.

Your pee hole is at the upper part of the vaginal opening... the only thing that's going to help is forstall a UTI... but it flushes NOTHING out of the vaginal tract at all.

Urinating after sex prevents bladder infections, not yeast infections. Time to find another doctor.

I agree that your doctor doesn't seem to know basic anatomy. Was this your general practitioner or a gynecologist? Are you certain you were diagnosed with a yeast infection and not a urinary tract infection?

I suggest going to a new doctor and getting tested again. The first time may have been a yeast infection, but that does not mean the second time is the same thing. Some sexually transmitted diseases can appear to have the same symptoms as a yeast infection.

It could also be that the second partner has a yeast infection from someone else. He needs to know so that he can get tested and treated too.

I'm sure it is a yeast infection. This has happened 4 or 5 times. I do not know what to do. I have been tested for STDs and I am negative for them all.

You might be sensitive to latex or the spermicides/lubricants used on condoms. If the skin (or lining of the vagina) is being irritated it can increase the likelihood that your natural balance of bacteria and yeast is being thrown off and allowing for you to become infected more easily.

I still think you need to consult another doctor. You might also look into other types of condoms and spermicides/lubricants that might not upset your body.
