Six months ago? Ya, it's safe.

Wait... did you dye your hair, or "die" it? What exactly did you do to it? If you dyed it you colored it. If you died it, I have no idea. I guess we should be very clear about what you did before we give you advice.

I'm pretty sure she meant she colored her hair, not killed it or something :) Do you mean a perm solution to straighten it, like brazilian? Or a perm to make it curly? I had a brazilian done once and it was really hard on my hair even though I don't color. I would be careful :)

Come on Alty please... of course she dyed it. We all make spelling mistakes once in a while.

You must have a two tone unless you dyed it same colour. Have ends cut off first.

I was actually being sincere, not pointing out a spelling mistake. We get many people here for who English isn't their first language. Because of that they sometimes use terms that we don't understand. I asked if she meant she dyed her hair because she could mean she fried it with some treatment she did, completely destroyed it with some treatment, in other words, "killed" it I've been there. I once had a perm that completely destroyed my hair. I wasn't able to do any other treatment on it for over 6 months, without risking losing all my hair.

If she dyed it in January, then a perm is perfectly safe.

If a treatment she did went horrible wrong and her hair was destroyed, it may not be okay for her to get a perm at this time.

And yes, I do realize she said she "died it dark brown", but that still didn't necessarily mean that she dyed it. When my perm when wrong I went from having dark brown hair to a very sickly looking green. Color change can happen if you use a product that damages your hair.

In other words, I really wasn't trying to be a smarta$$. I really was asking the OP what she meant, to clarify what advice we could give her.
