    Hi

    How to change the last names of our children?
    We want to change the last name of our children. Can you help me with this an dhow long will it take. We are living in New York.what are the steps can you please help. Thanks.

    First, its not a good idea to piggyback your question on another thread. To avoid confusion your question has been moved to its own thread.

    Who is "we" and why do you want to change the last names? If the we do not include both legal parents there may be a problem here.

    The process is to file a petition in Family Court, but it may be more complicated based on who "we" is.
