    Major appliances tripping electricity
After mopping my floor this morning my electricity tripped. I reset it and have checked all sockets and lights working however when I plug in a major appliance i.e. washing machine, fridge, TV, hoover etc it immediately trips again. Have I somehow wet something I shouldn't have or is the problem unrelated?

If you got water into an outlet, particularly a floor one it may be related. You are in GB I presume, 240 VAC?

Can you please define "it". You keep saying "it" tripped, but we don't know what this is. The main? A branch circuit breaker?

It is the RCD controlled circuit switch at the box

The RCD may be tripping due to an overload, but more likely due to a ground fault. Need to call in a professional to troubleshoot and repair.
